San Diego among Top Hot Housing Markets in 2019
San Diego will be one of the hottest housing markets in 2019, real estate website Zillow predicted.
Data analysts looked at places where home values and rents were expected to outpace the rest of the country, income growth, job opportunities, and population growth.
Overall, San Diego ranked 10th among national markets.
1. San Jose
2. Orlando
3. Denver
4. Atlanta
5. Minneapolis-St. Paul
6. San Francisco
7. Dallas-Fort Worth
8. Nashville
9. Jacksonville
10. San Diego
Zillow experts said the forecast change in San Diego area home values over the next 12 months was 4.3 percent.
Rents were expected to rise 8.6 percent.
As of November, the median home value in San Diego was $629,100. That was an increase of 6.2% over the previous 12 months.
This forecast suggests that house values in San Diego will rise a bit more slowly in 2019 than they did in 2018. This mirrors broader projections for the nation as a whole.
The general consensus among housing analysts and economists appears to be that annual home-price appreciation will cool a bit over the coming months.
